Ardmory Veterinary Clinic is a single-centre clinic that opened in February 2009 and describes having experience caring for a “large range of pet species.” Recent reviews strongly reinforce that focus on exotics as well as cats and dogs, with owners describing treatment for snakes, tortoises, bearded dragons, parrots, hedgehogs, ferrets, gerbils and degus. Concrete examples include same-day surgery for a pygmy hedgehog lump, reptile husbandry advice (heating/lighting) given after an exam for suspected mouth rot, and end-of-life support for a ferret where the team phoned within about an hour with a clear but gentle update and gave the family time to say goodbye.
For emergencies when the clinic is closed, the website says clients are advised to contact Emergency Vets Glasgow or Vets Now.
4.8 stars from 223 reviews. - Exotics competence comes up repeatedly: owners cite knowledgeable care for bearded dragons, snakes, tortoises, parrots, hedgehogs, ferrets and small mammals, including practical husbandry guidance (heating/lighting).

Our Pygmy hedgehog needed a surgery due to a lump on her body, they organised it quickly and she was in and out on the same day! Since the surgery, she’s been full of life and cuddlier than ever ❤️ we are so thankful and happy with the vet, the nurse and the reception staff for all their help! The vet did an amazing job with the surgery and she is healing so well, couldn’t be happier.

I wanted to leave a review as I've read the negative reviews about this practice and think a few things need clarified. First of all, the comments about needing to wait outside: I can imagine this was during covid and that they followed the government installed restrictions on access to confined space, meaning people to wait outside during appointments, as the number of staff in the building meant the floorspace was at capacity. This is not the case now. I've seen another comment saying that it's a little bit expensive: I have a tortoise. To be able to find somebody who actually knows what they are talking about - to provide, informed, knowledgeable, experienced care for a reptile - is rare and expensive. I came home the other day and asked my husband to guess how much it cost to have a blood sample, poo sample, full examination and 30 minute consultation done for Sheldon. He guessed £160, which would have been my ballpark, too. It was £90. If you consider this expensive, you have not done the adequate research that should be done before taking on the responsibility of another creature's life. The service that we have received has been exemplary, thorough and affordable. I cannot fault it.

Michael is the best vet for our bearded dragon, he is extremely knowledgeable and kind, has a genuine interest at heart for all animals by the looks of how busy the practise is.

Apologies for the novel that follows, but I felt the need to add to my previous review made 11 Years ago, to confirm my trust was well placed and assure everyone that this is the vets to trust. They have now cared for my past gerbils, current & past ferrets, my degus, and my cat. They have been with me through highs & lows, money troubles & personal issues, and their standard of care has never waned. Having just said goodbye to my old girl (Ferret) Fawn, I need to express how much their compassion meant to me. They squeezed me in when I phoned first thing in the morning, they had her seen immediately by their wonderful vet Nurse Laura, and they took my Fawn away for treatment shortly after. Receptionist Karen was amazing on the phone and comforting as I walked out the door in tears, and her lovely demeanor was just the kindness I needed at the time. While we knew we wanted to let Fawn rest in peace that day, we weren't expecting her to worsen so quickly however the phone call we received (about an hour after we had left the practice) from Dr Michael Orsi was clear but gentle message that it was time. There was no pressure, we were not rushed, but we were so thankful to have a vet tell us the honest truth as kindly as possible. We drove back, and while the whole team had done everything they could, my wee Fawn the ferret was in a terrible state of respiratory distress which of course upset my mum & I deeply. Again, we were reassured that there was no rush, we would not be disturbed, and so we said our goodbyes in the calm reception area. They gave us all the time they could, and gave us time with her sedated so Fawn was not suffering while we loved on her. For that, I will be forever grateful. Dr Michael Orsi explained everything, there would be no shock or surprises at this sensitive moment, and he hides needles well which is reassuring for needle sensitive folk! Our girl was at rest, given peace by the team that had cared for her over eight years, and we could tell they truly loved her too. They gave her the death she deserved. This small team of Dr Michael Orsi, Nurse Laura, and receptionists Karen & Stefanie are the most wonderful group of veterinary care specialists and I bet my life they care for every animal that comes through their doors with the same dedication they have shown us in our worst moments. I can only hope none of them choose to retire in the next few decades because I can't imagine trusting anyone else! 😂 An invaluable vet practice, your animals couldn't be better cared for regardless of species. 💕 My Review 11 Years Ago: Fantastic vet! I'm certain that I owe my little ferret girl's life to them after all they did and continue doing for her (very impressed with the care they gave her when there seemed little hope), I will positively trust them with any future pets of mine! Worth travelling to since they seem to really try for the animals and thr prices aren't bad either. :)
